Heritage has adopted PRIDE as our driving force and one word on how we should conduct ourselves in the school and community.  There are rubrics throughout the school that show students the expectations for using PRIDE in all areas of the school.   At the beginning of the year each student receives a PRIDE journal.  On the PRIDE team building day, students learn to write SMART goals. They also learn about their learning styles, multiple intelligences and Growth mindset, and record those results in their journal. On Flashback Fridays, during the SSR period, students reflect on their goals and set new ones for the upcoming week.  Guidance counselors also use the journals for reflections on the activities they do throughout the year.

Each month, we focus on a school wide character word and have building initiatives for students and staff to participate in.  Below are the month words and several of the initiatives that we do.  We get the word out through our daily video announcements, PRIDE fliers, All Call emails and phone calls to parents.  We also have outside speakers come in to school and focus on one of the character words during monthly lunch and learns.
